lyrics
A wise and simple life I learned to live,
I pray to God in quiet meditation,
I take long wanderings before the eve
To weary the unneeded angst and tension.
With burdock rustling; and the rowan red
And yellow berries gradually fading,
I form the joyous verses in my head
That speak of life, its beauty, and its frailty.
I am returning. To my sweet delight,
My fuzzy cat rubs on my fingers, purring.
And through the duskiness, a shiny light
Atop the lumber mill is gaily burning.
Just every now and then, a landing stork
Disturbs the silence with a sudden crow,
And if you came to knock upon my door,
It seems to me, I would not even know.

Passionate and expressive, personal and sensitive, strong and intense – this is the music of Angela Avetisyan Quartet. Born
in Armenia and raised in Russia, trumpet player Angela Avetisyan together with Matthias Gmelin (dr) and Maximilian Hirning (b) from Germany and Misha Antonov (p) from Russia mix funk, jazz, pop and folk music to create their own exquisite sound.
This record has such a magical flow to it, it seems to capture so directly the ups and downs of life, the joy of music and dance, and it's just so damn catchy and fun to listen to as well. Giles
Such a beautifully crafted album. Such intense rich weaving of sounds and feelings. It’s one of those albums you are happy to share at the same time want to keep as a personal secret.
Amazing stuff by Mr Halsall. I suggest anyone reading this to spend some time in his early stuff too. Song to Charlie is monumental. il-berts
